But I spent most of it being sick. Have been vomiting and had a bad case of flu for 2 weeks. had to get an injection and some horrid medicine. Sad hols.

Before coming home, I spent 3 days at CF Camp which was super fun! The sessions were really good. Pastor Yesudason made quite an impact on me. He spoke a lot about God’s will in our lives. I found it really interesting cos I’ll be out in the world soon and what he said was relevant to what I’m going through. Made me think a lot about my life. Guess I’ve got a whole lot more to think about cos it’s really not easy determining how you wanna live your life, what legacy do you wanna leave and all. The worship sessions were really great especially the ones conducted by the BM Dept.

the English Dept at camp

my small group (Pishon) with Pastor Yesudason & his wife

Pishon again

camp excos

the whole bunch of us at camp

Before the camp, Joyce, Siew Hwei, Jesslyn, Amanda and I were staying together for 3 days in Joyce’s room. Now that was super duper fun! We did lots of stuff together. But the best memory of those few days is when we did our own steamboat in the room. The boys (Luke, James, Richie) were really jealous...haha. Sorry guys...we really wanted a girls’ night!! We did our shopping in Changlun at the market and at C-Mart. Gosh…we went a little crazy. We bought a lot of food and that night we had to stuff ourselves like crazy and we even had leftovers to give James and Aaron!

steamboat in Joyce's room

the BSB (minus Kevin, who left the group)

Also I found out that my favourite boyband in the world has decided to come out with a new album! Yup the Backstreet Boys are back again…yay!! Their first single, Inconsolable from their new album Unbreakable makes a good listen. Really. but my favourite song would be Helpless When She Smiles. Yes, it's a sappy ballad but what can I say? I'm a sucker when it comes to BSB's ballads! Even though the boys are not actually boys anymore and they look a bit weird in this video, they still remain No.1 to me..sigh. After all these years they're still going strong (unlike other boybands, namely NSYNC and whatever groups not worth mentioning). Gotta give them credit for that. GO BSB!!

Of books and all..

As many of you know, one of my favourite things to do in the world is read. Yup, Elizabeth is actually a big nerd. I know it’s a bit hard to detect the ‘nerdiness’ in me but yes folks, it’s really there ;).

Once I start reading a book, it will take a bulldozer to yank my attention away from them. In my family, my dad & I are the readers. The rest, well they aren’t. so they just don’t understand my ‘relationship’ with books..haha. My mum, in particular gets pretty upset when I forget about lunch and housework once I get a book in my hands. Most of the time her pleas go ignored. Thus she has since given up on me. Now she just sighs loudly and says something like ‘that girl & her books again’. Haha..funny mum.

My all-time favourite authors would be Enid Blyton. Her Famous Five and Five-Find-Outers series were my absolute favourites. I actually still read them once in a while. Don’t laugh ya..I mean I’ve probably read it around 100 times easily (ok..maybe not 100 times, but you get the picture :) ). Can never get bored of it!

Then as I grew up, my tastes expanded. Started reading Sweet Valley series, which was really popular at that time. Everyone in school was reading it and it became quite a phenomenon. Somehow it is not as popular today as it was last time..hmmm.dunno why.

Sweet Valley got me interested in romance novels, namely Mills & Boon and the like. These books were quite interesting to read at first but after a while I thought that all the storylines were about the same even though the books were written by different people. The plots may vary but basically the story’s the same. Bad boy meets nice girl. At first they’d hate each other but after some tongue-lashing between them, the girl ends up falling in love with the guy. Typical.

After entering into uni, my taste in books changed significantly. My dad started introducing me to biographies. He always loved that sort of book but I always perceived it as too boring. But I thought I might humor him when he got me this book- Do They Hear You When You Cry? by Fauziyah Kassindja. Had some misgivings when I saw how thick the book was..But boy..what a book! Totally had me hooked from the time I started reading it. This is the story of Fauziyah herself. Her journey from Togo, Africa to America. Her sad tragedies and miseries all the way from her homeland. What she wrote was shocking to read. Had me reduced to tears by the time I finished. I never imagined that people actually go through these things nowadays. A really good read if you can take the sad and sometimes gory details described quite vividly by the writer.

That got me started on biographies particularly the ones that portray the struggles and oppression faced by people (especially women) in other countries that we don’t normally hear about. Princess by Jean P. Sasson was also very eye-opening. It describes the life of Princess Sultana Al Sa'ud, a princess in the royal house of Saudi Arabia. Hidden behind her black veil, she is a prisoner, jailed by her father, her husband, and her country.

Sultana reveals the appalling oppressions, everyday occurrences that in any other culture would be seen as shocking human rights violations. Daughters of Arabia is the sequel to this book. A superb read.

When I saw Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody in the library, an instinct told me to pick it up and read it. Wow..the book was so super good! Betty Mahmoody tells her story of how her Iranian husband forcefully kept her and their daughter in his home country and all the suffering and torture she went through trying to free herself and the daughter from him and his family and the story of her eventual escape from Iran. Really touching story.

I started reading Mary Higgins Clark’s books last semester and I was instantly addicted. Not only does her characters totally come alive in my imagination but also she keeps my thrill flowing through every single page. The murderer is never revealed until the last page possible second (unlike Sidney Sheldon’s books) and this keeps readers very interested and on-the-edge in their desperation to know who did it. My heart actually beats real fast when I read her books. Wow..never before have I been so into an author. Mary Higgins Clark is really one magnificent writer. Hey all..seriously next time if you’re thinking about what book to read next, I’d recommend u pick up any title from her. So because of the fine persuasive skills of my dearest buds (mostly, Chun Yee & Huey Wen), I’ve decided to revive my blog.

First things first..in my last post, I mentioned my uncle was going to work in Afghanistan. Well he didn’t in the end. Thanks to my mum..haha. She made a big fuss and demanded my uncle change his mind. So that’s it then.

Well..the drum lessons haven’t been going so well. I’m sticking to the basic knowledge of how to play it. Anything beyond that means I have to go for a surgical operation to disconnect the nerves that connects my hands and legs since I have absolutely no way of making my hands & legs move at different beats. But obviously that would kill me so that it then.

Now for a few updates..still studying in UUM. Next semester will be my last..woohoo! Can’t believe it though. Seems time has a way of just whizzing past me without warning. Going out into the real world soon. Scary but it’s a part of life that we all must go through.

Oh yes..I’m taking Spanish this sem. It’s been fun so far. Those long-ago times of watching Spanish soap operas are paying off. Can easily understand the words. Spanish verbs are difficult though. But somehow I’m coping well in this class. Had a presentation the other day. Our group did a short skit. We were so scared cos it is after all a foreign language but it turned out ok. Not great but ok. It did bring back memories of my acting days way back in Standard 5. Sigh..those were good times.

Have been missing my friends a lot lately especially Chin, Huey, Jo-Ann, Choo & Ee May. It’s been ages since I last saw Chin. Met Jo & Choo in KL about a month back. What fun it was seeing them even if it was only for a few hours. Managed to gossip like crazy. Miss you guys!!

If u guys have been checking out my friendster profile, you would know that I have a baby cousin who is now 4 months old. Her name is Neha and she’s the cutest thing ever! Chubby and expressive, she’s pee-ed on me more times than I care to remember. Because of her, I’ve learnt to change nappies, the correct way to bathe babies and other ‘mummy’ lessons..haha.

Also have been missing my cousin, Shireen. Had loads of fun in KL with her. We shopped like mad. Haha..can only go mad like this with her. She can totally entice me to spend money in shoes and clothes! My mum’s always worried when the both of us are together..funny mum. We even went to watch the fireworks in Putrajaya then it was satay kajang..oooh it was so super good! Those times are still fresh in my head..love u!

Chin called me the other day. She had an extra ticket to Chris Daughtry’s concert in Singapore this Thursday. She asked me to join her. Was so excited! But a horrible thought then came to my head..is my passport still valid? A quick calculation told me the horrid truth. Yep..it had indeed expired. Still not very convinced, I quickly called my mum to ask her. She confirmed that it has been 5 years since our last trip overseas. What a total let down!! Badly wanted to go for that. Chris is so super hot..plus I have a thing for bald guys (think Lex Luthor in Smallville)..hehe. Only if they look good with it, of course. So now Chin’s taking Wan Yean to the concert. Sigh..sad sad sad.

These are some of the pics of the things I’ve been up to lately. All my online ventures have been really short…long enough to retrieve the notes my lecturers put online. That only takes about 15 minutes tops…sorry again.

Well nothing really exciting has happened since I last checked in here. Life has been really boring. Oh ya…my sister went for an appendicitis operation a few days back. She’s fine now, just has to rest a lot.

Right now, I’m learning how to play the drums. We had a jamming session at the church in Changlun the other day and boy, was it fun or what!! It has been one of my deepest desire (along with climbing the Everest and visiting the Pyramids) to learn how to play the drums and be really good at it. My little brother, who’s so good at drums absolutely refused to teach me. One of my juniors, Luke volunteered for the job…God bless him! Never thought I was so uncoordinated until I actually played the drums. How on earth do I get both my hands and my right leg to play at different times? They seem to have a mind of their own when I’m on the drums. Just couldn’t seem to control them…sigh.

Took me a long time but I’ve finally done it…thanks to the long practices in my room using my highlighter pens as drum sticks. My aim is to go back and give my too-cool-for-my-sister brother a shock of his life when he sees that I actually know how to play…hehe.

One disappointing thing that happened was the class trip to Thailand got cancelled because of the bird flu...really sad. Especially since I was so excited about it and also because I kinda like boasted about this trip to everyone else…sigh. Now I’ve got nothing to show off…what a sad, sad life.

I’ve officially certified certain family members of mine (namely, my uncle-my mom’s younger brother) absolutely crazy. This uncle of mine has got it into his head to go overseas to work. Where, you ask? Well if it were Singapore or Japan or England, I wouldn’t call him crazy. But do you know where he’s going? AFHGANISTAN…there, I’ve said it. It’s a crazily crazy idea, if you ask me. Of all the places to go to…for once in my life, I’m just left speechless (that doesn’t happen often, believe me). There must be over 100 countries in the world and he had to choose that one. Why, you ask? I, with all my creative ideas and superb logical thinking, can’t, for the life of me, think of a single reason why he’d go there…I’m actually still in shock. HELP!!!

What is going on???

Have been really pissed off with the newspaper as of late. I mean, look at the headlines of The Star 2 days ago. Instead of highlighting other more important such as the tsunami in Indonesia which killed hundreds of people or the war in the Middle East, they chose to talk about Siti Nurhaliza getting married! I mean, come on!! 3 full pages about them!!

Ok, well maybe it is actually important or news-worthy but it is definitely not worthy of front-page news. And the way they’ve been talking about her and Datuk K for months now is seriously degrading to the image of the newspaper. I feel like it’s becoming more like a tabloid now instead of a respected newspaper. If we actually wanted to know about Siti and the guy she’s marrying, we’d buy one of those glossy magazines which feature these kind of things to its finest detail. PLEASE, we want the old Star back. We want to read NEWS not gossips and celebrity marriages. Thanks.

Here I am back again after 5 days in UUM. Moved into a new room, am roommate-less & loving it!!

These few days have been hectic for me as I've got to add/drop subjects and believe me, this is no easy task...sigh...my brains felt like they were gonna explode yesterday when Aruna & I went all over the Communications & Modern Languages Faculty trying to add a couple of subjects which were already fully taken. Don't know why this always happens to me..I always register my subjects early yet it is all in vain. So come every semester I have to run around begging lecturers to let me in their already full class. And as always Aruna & I end up taking a paper which we're actually supposed to take in our 5th sem..sigh (again).

Well all that's over now. Finished adding my subjects and may I say that I have a horrible time-table. Have 4 classes consecutively for 1 1/2 hours each (which makes a total of 6 hours) every Mondays and Wednesdays (God help me!). On top of that, all these classes are at exactly the same lecture hall which can be compared to the Antartica, if you know what I mean. Dear Ee May has told me to wear the complete gear-sweater, mittens, scarf, socks, gloves and goodness knows what else.REALLY!!

Ball Fever

It's happening again!! I'm actually taking serious interest in football again..this happens once every 4 years, mind you..hehe. Well you can't blame me for my lack of interest during the other times cos, well, not really sure of the reason la..

But I've always had an interest in the World Cup..got interesterd way back in 1998 when my brother watched it and it just captured all of our attention. Maybe it was the fact that we watched little of anything else in that 1 month..hmmm..

This time, I have actually been staying up to watch the England matches (which have been really boring, I might add). But because of my undying support towards England, I watched it anyway. But I must admit, I kinda slept off during their match against Poland..sigh..well, at least I tried watching.

To tell you the truth, have never really understood the rules of the game..never tried to anyway. Also, if a goal is cancelled when it is scored if the player is offside, then why can't teams play using what I call the 'offside strategy'? Some of you probably won't get what I'm trying to say...well try la..

Well, crossing my fingers that England will advance to the semis at least. Think they have a good shot but, well you never can tell sometimes..so, GO ENGLAND!!!

Have been so bored at home...my uncles, aunts & cousins went back last week. Then Jo-Ann & Ai Choo came also & we sat at Gurney drive just talking..that was so nice considering the fact that I hadn't seen them for a month prior to that..

The next morning met Swee Kit for a dim sum breakfast...sigh.I'm putting on soo much of weight di...sigh..

Haven't gone out since then except to church..at laest I'll be going out later to watch 'Cars'..sigh..then it will be boredom as usual..

Last Tuesday, went to the beach with my family..went on a boat-ride..that was fun although wished it could have been longer.Saw an eagle flying over the boat. But it was nice just spending time with cousin and all..my mom was absolutely terrified cos she has this weird thing about water..sigh.

I'm Back...

Hey people...sorry for the long absence. Was in Cameron Highlands attending Camp Cameron la...told you all about it di wat...anywayz, I'm back now afetr 3 weeks in the cold weather where I was seriously freezing to death..really, really cold ok.

Camp Cameron was so absolutely wonderful!! Had so much of fun with my chalet family. I was the 'mama' for my chalet..can you believe it?haha..had a 'husband' plus 11 kids! Also included in the family were 2 grandparents & 2 aunties...it was a crazy family.

It was so great that all of us who are so different came together and had so much of fun plus managed to stay together for 3 weeks without killing each other..hehe. They've all inspired and encouraged me in so many different ways that I owe so much to them...sigh.

My 'daughters' were so great..I actually tucked them in once in a while..haha. Especially enjoyed the midnight gossips with my roomies-Shelby, Wai Kuan, Kai Lee & Lee Teng. My 'sons' however were 3 different species altogether. One son was really nice..always washed up the pots after mealsfor me. Another son was so sweet..bought me cactus & sunflower seeds to eat when he discovered that I loved them so much. Then the other one was my 'naughty son'. Always feels rejected cos I scold him all the time..papa does too.

But really, in that 3 weeks, we've come to understand and love one another in little ways which only we can understand...can't wait to meet you guys again. So thanks to Grandpa Micheal, Grandma Grace, Aunty Evelin, Aunty Esther, Papa Wee Kee, Sze Lyn, Mee Sing, Jane, Jojo, Shelby, Wai Kuan, Kai Lee, Lee Teng, Simon, Ah Leow & Manfred..will miss you guys a lot!

This is Lego, where I usually eat when I go for classes
This is the view outside my room..sigh
This was my room in its not-so-nice times..haha

It over...FINALLY

Hey peeps!! Back in Penang..so nice..sigh. Just had to come back..was so bored out of my mind with the food there.

Before exams, there was loads of fun..there was the senior's farewell in church where we had a blast! Of course it was sad too cos I really bonded with all of them and church and all our activities won't be the same anymore without Lena, Yoges, Jenny, Winsome & Sam..so sad. We the juniors did a cool presentation where we kinda talked bout the seniors & what they meant to us. I spent a whole week shooting everybody's part and a whole night editing it & making it inot a movie..Chris talked the most..seriously, the boy's born to be lawyer! But it was so worth it when I saw their faces when we showed it in church. Gosh...will miss you guys terribly!

There was also the Continentals' concert in FGA Alor Star which was sooo good! Rented a car and drove to Alor Star in record 20 minutes..cool rite? Drove back in 20 minutes also..haha. Had to be back before curfew at 12 wat..

But now have to study..the only good thing is, I'll be done with finals in exactly a week's time!! Yippee!! Left with Communication Technology & Integrative Media to study..got to go now to study..will write soon..bye

Propogating Propaganda

What is a propaganda? Well, to make a long story short, a propaganda is the deliberate attempt of one to influence another to follow your way...it's kinda scary, actually. When you think about it, there are propagandas being dished out everytime and everywhere. Advertisements, TV and most of the mainstream media are out to influnce its audience.

According to Elizabeth Zachariah (ME!!), we, the audience have to be strong in our own judgments and be opinionated and of course not be easily swayed by the slightest attempt of one to change your mind. If you're the type to get easily influenced, chances are that you are always a victim of a propaganda...in one way or another. We the audience should try to make sure if what we hear in the news everyday has any truth in it or is the news a deliberate attempt of some politician to sabotage his opponent, or if that skin cream really does erase wrinkles.

If we at least try to do that, then we can be sure that we won't be easily propogated by propagandas..

A Field Trip

Last week, my friends and I went on a trip to Kuala Perlis to have a seafood dinner. We left UUM at 8.30pm and reached before 9pm..Aaron drove like a maniac. Boy, was it fun or what!! We ordered 6 dishes plus rice and all of us agreed it was the most satisfying meal that we've had in months!! We ate fried sotong, salad yu char koay, vege, steamed fish, kerabu vege and tauhu..gosh just thinking of it makes me hungry all over again!

After that wonderful meal, we all took loads of pictures as this would be one of our last trips with the seniors who are graduating this sem..so sad. Took pictures with just about everyone and we all really had loads of fun with Aaron's crazy antics.

We left at 10.30 and reached UUM at 11.10. We would have reached earlier if it weren't for Aaron's emergency stop near some bushes to ease himself..haha. All in all, it was a great day..looking forward to more days like that.

Broken Hearted

Silent Tear

Yesterday I cried a silent tear for fear of losing you
Today I cried a silent tear because you left my heart behind
Tomorrow I'll cry a silent tear because I'll be getting over you....

Sad Poem by Ashley Matics.

Isn't that such a simple, yet beautiful poem? All of us in a group are like one big family and I love each and every one of them to death...This is them up there. From left: Jo-Ann, me, Chin, Huey Wen, Ee May, Celest and Ai Choo

Jo-Ann's studying Bio in UM. She's one silly goose..haha.Love teasing her cos she so funny when she defensive. She eats really fast, too. Meal times always turn into a race between Jo-Ann and me but sadly, she still remains undefeated. But boy, can we both talk! If you put both of us together, we can just yack the day (and night!) away. Only God knows what we talk about! Phone conversations with Jo-Ann can last up to 3 hours long, much to my parents' dismay.

Then there's Chin, the nicest of the lot. Se's studying communications in NUS. Really miss her to bits as she's the one I run to with my problems. Really miss her advices and logical way of putting everything into perspective.

Huey Wen's studying nanotechnology in Australia. She'll be leaving this Friday after a 3- month break. She's my partner-in-crime. We do all the evil stuff together ( like gossiping and plotting to annoy someone else)..haha. But we annoy each other more! We always look for things to irritate each other with and that's what really makes us so close. Can talk to her for hours too. She has this really weird way of cheering me up but somehow it just does the trick. And oh yes, she's so jealous cos her sister said I'm gonna be real famous in the future...haha.Don't worry, I'll always remember the little people even when I'm famous.

Ee May is studying Engineering Physic in USM. She's the shortest in our group..haha(sorry, May!). But she's also the most talented one. Sh's really creative and quite a perfectionist in everything she does. She's the only one among us who's studying in Penang so whenever I go back for the weekend, she's the one I always see. She's so dependable and really caring in her own way. She does't show it but she does little things to show that she cares. We love terrorrising Jo-Ann together! Good ol' Ee May.

Celest just left for New Zealand the other day where she's studying Engineering. Celest is great at giving advice too although some of it are pretty wacky to go along with. One thing about her is that she never holds a grudge. She forgets pretty quickly any wrongdoings. She's really crazy and quite lovable.

Ai Choo's studying with Jo-Ann in UM. She's like the big sister of the group, maybe because she's the oldest of us all ( by a few months). She's the practical one and has her head on her shoulders. She's the one who often tries to calm or over-excited group in some instances. But sometimes she surprises us by being as every bit as crazy as the rest of us if not more!

Thanks for being such great friends, guys. Missing you all loads here...until we meet again, God bless you all. To Huey, come back soon ya and don't forget to sms me!! Love you all..*hugs*

That's me!!

<img style="FLOAT: left; The time when I would be be feeling sad for myself...yes people..it's Valentine's Day. Well this year was no different from the previous years...didn't get flowers or candies or anything from any secret admirers..sigh. The only thing different from previous years is that I spent it all alone in my room, studying too, mind you (had an exam today). Every year, without fail (up until this year, of course) my friends (all of whom are single and available too, with the exception of Celest) and I would celebrate V-Day together...guess what do we do? We usually have dinner then a movie and then as a nightcap, we go down to Gurney Drive to watch the lovey-dovey couples there while pitying ourselvelves at the lack of boyfriends in our lives...really sad, huh? Haha..
Was a bit sad this year cos i felt so alone...Chin, who's studying in Singapore felt the same way too..pity her. Well at least some of us had fun..Huey and Ee May went out for a movie. Celest celebrated her first V-Day with her boyfriend who flew down from Sarawak as a surpise (ain't that sweet?).
To everyone out there, Happy Valentine's Day!

Water Activities...

Twas Superb!!

Oh, the last week was so great! Was in Penang for more than a week. Got to eat to my heart’s content…really, really missing Penang food already la. Got to spend time with my family and also my friends.

The last day in Penang was the best! My friends and I went to Batu Feringghi to play some water sports. We set out about 12pm. When we reached, there was some confusion as to what to play. All of us agreed to ride on the banana boat together but we were unsure whether to do parasailing or ride on a jet ski. In the end 3 of us went parasailing and the rest rode the jet ski. I went parasailing and boy, was it wonderful! It was absolutely awesome to see a little of Penang from the skies. It is totally different from seeing it from an airplane, believe me. As the wind blew in my face, I was just struck dumb with the beauty of God’s creation. My heart kept jumping as the parachute kept going up and down. At one point the guy in the boat pulling my chute was going so slow, I actually touched the water.

After all of us had finished doing our individual sport, it was time to go on a banana boat. It was so much fun, riding along the waves with everyone screaming ourselves silly…haha. The as went on our last round, I suddenly saw everybody in front of me being thrown into the water. In a while, I found myself in the water also. How I struggled to gain control of myself. Actually I have a great fear of water. Can’t swim also. The first thing that went through my mind when we fell into the water was the fact that this beach was full of jellyfish. I’ve never been stung by a jellyfish and wouldn’t want to create history now. Then I suddenly felt somebody pulling my hair down and I was going into the water! Naturally, I struggled to stay afloat. With water going in my nostrils, I couldn’t breathe. I struggled harder and I won. I looked behind to see who pulled me under and just imagine my surprise when I saw it was Celest, my friend whom I knew since Standard One. She told me she had to hold on to me to stay afloat herself. My childhood friend, putting her life before mine…sigh. Remind me never to get stranded on a deserted island with her. She might start eating me to survive…haha. Then another friend, Huey said she felt a sting on her leg. The jellyfish had struck! Fortunately, it wasn’t a serious sting. It got healed after a while.

After our beach escapades, we proceeded to a delicious lunch of the famous Penang laksa nearby (still makes my mouth water just thinking about it). After laksa, we went on to Lorong Selamat for ais kacang. That too, was really good.

What a day it was! Really the greatest day I had in a long time..thanks to Ee May, Huey Wen, Celest, Chee Mei and Jo-Ann for a wonderful time!

What Is The World Coming To

It's really sad and equally horrifying that we can't seem to go anywhere without being mugged, assaulted, raped or murdered these days. Always have to think twice before stepping out of the house. Plus we have to go to great lengths to dress with care..is it too short or too tight or too recealing? But these horrible things happen to those who even cover themselves totally..so what's wrong here? Take the recent rape and murder case of an ex-student of UUM which happened in Sungai Petani. The poor girl was kidnapped while jogging, raped and murdered and her body was dumped elsewhere. What about the little girl who was left to die in an estate Nibong Tebal after being raped? She died later in a hospital in Penang due to severe head injuries.

Cruel, you say? Of course it it. But it keeps happening even though much has been said and great safety measure taken. What more can we do? I mean, if it's the provocative dressing that provokes these guys, how come little girls fall victims too?

In my opinion, stiffer penalties should be handed to those convicted of these gruesome sins. But even then, I wonder how many of them are actually afraid? How can we girls go out without feeling afraid for our lives? It's sad, really...what is the world coming to?

Yippee!!!

Hi...I’m back again! What a wonderful week this has been. I went back home!!! For 2 days only la but it was still amazing. Got to spend time with my family as well as my friends. Brought home a couple of my friends from UUM as they wanted to see Penang guided by yours truly…hehe. It was great bringing my UUM friends and my home friends together. Thought it would be awkward at first but they got along fine.

Went to watch Cheaper By The Dozen 2…my first movie in weeks! The movie was great but then again, I’m a sucker for comedies especially romantic and family based comedies, so of course I thought it was great.

Mom cooked all my favourite food in those few days (God bless her!) which was a big welcome after suffering from diarrhea for the few weeks after every single meal in UUM. Lost weight in the first 2 weeks so when I went home, mom decided that I needed some feeding. But now since I came back, diarrhea is also back…so sad. Don’t know what the cause is. Can’t be that the food is dirty coz I have eaten dirtier food in Penang and I never suffered from diarrhea then. SIGH

Now on to something that has been in the newspaper for too long-this Elie Youssef Najem business. I find the whole issue so dumb that I don’t really know what to say..haha. I mean, come on there must be other news to report other than about this guy who seems to crave for attention, claiming he’s a prince, that he is an heir to a billion dollar empire and also all sorts of other absurdities! It’s becoming totally out of control, the way this thing has been handled. The news is turning into a laughing-stock. I really think that the media should work harder to report news that are really worthy and not create a great upheaval about this man…seriously!

Back in UUM!!!

Sigh...here I am again, back in UUM after a 2-month break. Had the most amazing time during holidays...went for a couple of trips, attented a national camp, had lots of outings with my friends and of course celebrated Christmas! It was fantastic!

But the fun's over(boo-hoo), for now at least. Came back about a week ago. Had a stressful first day, worrying about everything-my room, the lack of credit hours to my name and also the fact that I was gonna miss my mom like crazy!

Well, as the week wore on, my worries began to fade. Managed to add more subjects despite the the fact that most of the classes were already full. Special thanks goes out to Mr Mot for taking me in his already-packed Pengantar Komunikasi class. Absolutely had to take this subject this semester. Also, got to talk to my mom everyday so wasn't feeling very homesick.

The best part was got to hang out with my close church friends for most of the week. Made new friends in classes. Lecturers have been great so far. Even have Aruna in a couple of my classes with me. So all is looking well now except that I have a cold and a sore throat now.

Oh wait!! Did I mention that they've closed down our beloved Perwaja cafeteria? That's the craziest thing they've ever done. Bye-bye burgers and all the other wonderful food that kept me so satisfied last semester. Nowadays we have to walk to Telekom college to get our food. And it doesn't even come close to Perwaja's standards!! Sigh again. Sometimes it really amazes me how much we have to suffer to get that degree of ours..haha.

Ok..I'm off for now..Will keep updating. Ciao!!
